i-STAT System in the Laboratory

Optimise the partnership between laboratories and the critical care and emergency departments they serve

Real-time, lab-quality results at the patient side

The i-STAT System delivers diagnostic testing and record-keeping in four easy steps, ideal for use in health care locations where it may be difficult to get samples to the central lab.

The i-STAT System can help labs meet the demands of and maintain compliance with laboratory regulations, while also increasing efficiency and productivity in the time required to collect, process, and report results. The i-STAT System can't replace the lab; rather, it complements the lab's efforts by providing lab-quality results with-patient.

Results Faster than Benchtops

  • The i-STAT System has been shown to deliver lab-quality results significantly quicker than bench-top systems.1
  • The i-STAT System offers 24/7 with-patient testing, avoiding delays seen with bench-top systems, such as transport, human distractions, maintenance, and calibration.2
  • Results from two large UK hospitals showed the i-STAT System to be significantly quicker than two separate bench-top analyzers.3

Regulatory and Compliance

The i-STAT System is designed to monitor and oversee issues such as QC lock-outs and operator competency.

Lab Efficiency

Adoption of with-patient testing can help alleviate pressure on lab technicians by reducing the amount of test requests and telephone call-back procedures, thereby freeing them to focus on other tasks.

Quality Control Oversight

Flexible interfacing software solutions can help ensure connectivity to central lab for validation of test results.
