Make Implementation Easy with a Multi‑Phase Approach

The implementation process is designed to help ensure a successful and smooth transition of the i-STAT System in hospitals and other health care settings. Depending on the size and specific needs, your team may complete all or just a few of these phases.

Implementation phases:

  1. Pre-Implementation Meeting: Build a project plan with timelines, roles and responsibilities. Discuss process changes, such as the way tests are ordered and results are communicated.
  2. Performance Verification (If Required): Develop and execute a protocol to validate the performance of the i-STAT System.
  3. Data Management and Interfacing (If Required): Coordinate with key team to develop timelines for installation and integration of the i-STAT System.
  4. End User and/or i-STAT System programme Coordinator Training: Customise a programme to meet your facility’s needs and help ensure long-term sustainability of staff competence.
  5. “Go Live” and Follow-Up Support: Ensure the system launches as planned and is smoothly transitioned to Technical Support Services.

Guide your staff through clinical process change

A key part of the implementation process is a Clinical Awareness initiative designed to encourage your staff to embrace clinical process change. Clinical Awareness runs concurrently with all phases of the implementation process and actively involves your clinical staff throughout the process so they will embrace the new process changes and take greater ownership of the system’s success.

This initiative covers:

  • Awareness: Inform clinical staff that the i-STAT System has arrived and implementation is underway and positive process change initiatives are coming 
  • Clinical Education: Educate staff about how the i-STAT System might affect clinical decisions regarding their patients
