ABBOTT BRINGS ITS PORTABLE i-STAT ANALYZER TO THE
WORLD MARATHONS, DELIVERING DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS
WHERE AND WHEN THEY ARE NEEDED

As part of our commitment to helping people live fuller, healthier lives through our life-changing technology, Abbott sponsors the Abbott World Marathon Majors, a series of six of the largest and most renowned marathons in the world, including the Boston Marathon, Virgin Money London Marathon, BMW Berlin Marathon, Bank of America Chicago Marathon and TCS New York City Marathon. At the medical tents and along the race courses at these events, Abbott’s portable i-STAT® System is used to empower marathon medical staff to diagnose and treat runners on site by providing results in minutes.

In addition to being a title sponsor of the Abbott World Marathon Majors, Abbott supplies i-STAT 1 blood analyzers to the marathon medical staff to help provide the vital information needed to administer proper care. Staff can use i-STAT cTnI (Troponin) to quickly check for serious conditions, such as heart attack; or monitor runners suffering from dehydration and hypernatremia with i-STAT Chem8+. The i-STAT System provides lab-quality results in minutes for the most commonly ordered tests where and when they are needed...because Answers Can’t Wait.
